What to Consider Before You Buy

01

Floor Count & Travel Height

The number of floors determines whether a hydraulic, geared traction, or gearless MRL system is most suitable. Hydraulic lifts are ideal for 2–4 floors; MRL gearless systems handle 10–30+ floors at higher speeds.

02

Available Pit Depth

Traditional elevators require a pit of 600–1500 mm. If your building has a slab-on-grade foundation, choose a shallow-pit or zero-pit option like our Belt Zenith or FlexLift scissor series.

03

Shaft Space & Structure

Do you have an existing shaft, or is construction ongoing? A pre-built shaft allows any drive system; for retrofits, self-supporting structural options eliminate the need for new civil work.

04

Load Capacity

Residential lifts typically need 250–400 kg (3–5 persons). Commercial lifts start at 630 kg. Hospitals need stretcher-ready cabins. Freight lifts go up to 10,000 kg. Always oversize slightly for future needs.

05

Power Supply Available

Home lifts often run on single-phase 230V. Commercial elevators typically need 3-phase 415V. If only single-phase is available at your site, confirm this with us before finalising the model.

06

Budget vs Total Cost of Ownership

A lower upfront cost can mean higher maintenance expenses over 10 years. Factor in AMC costs, energy consumption (look for Energy Class A or A++), and spare part availability before comparing quotes.
